Hefeweizen Spiced Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
  • ½ cup melted butter (1/4 for batter, 1/4 for topping)
  • 1 1/2 cups Kingsville Brewery Hefeweizen
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350degF (175degC) grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, both sugars, baking powder, baking soda, salt cinnamon and nutmeg
  • In another bowl blend mashed bananas, eggs, ¼ cup melted butter, and vanilla
  • Add the wet mixture to the dry, pour in beer and fold gently until just combined (do not over mix). Fold in nuts if using.
  • Pour and spread batter into a loaf pan. Drizzle remaining melted butter over the top
  • Bake 50-60 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick or skewer inserted into the center comes out clean
  • Let bread cool in pan for 10minutes, then remove to a cooling rack. If desired, drizzle with a cinnamon and powdered sugar glaze once fully cooled.
  • Slice and serve
