Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
- ½ cup melted butter (1/4 for batter, 1/4 for topping)
- 1 1/2 cups Kingsville Brewery Hefeweizen
- ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350degF (175degC) grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, both sugars, baking powder, baking soda, salt cinnamon and nutmeg
- In another bowl blend mashed bananas, eggs, ¼ cup melted butter, and vanilla
- Add the wet mixture to the dry, pour in beer and fold gently until just combined (do not over mix). Fold in nuts if using.
- Pour and spread batter into a loaf pan. Drizzle remaining melted butter over the top
- Bake 50-60 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick or skewer inserted into the center comes out clean
- Let bread cool in pan for 10minutes, then remove to a cooling rack. If desired, drizzle with a cinnamon and powdered sugar glaze once fully cooled.
- Slice and serve
